cold, weather

I had -21 and a wind chill of -45 at 7:30 this morning. Linus doesn't even want to go outside, sounds warmer tonight and tomorrow.

Ethen A Wilson Library Grand Opening

Yesterday we we all went to the grand opening of
the Ethen A Wilson Library.

A couple months ago, Ethen started inviting people to his library - before his parents knew what he was up to! He is really a reader and wanted his own library so Deb & Dan decided to go with it. Deb collected all kinds of books from Freecycle and family, her dad made huge wood bookshelves to be used in other places in the house later, and Ethen spent time coming up with his own reference system. Over 75 invitations went out and Deb put on quite a spread of food!
It was great!

Hump Day

Happy Hump Day!!! Just some random things going on at the Wilson's. We've been fighting the cold that everyone has, we spent all weekend sleeping and coughing. We skipped church on Sunday and Micah and I went in the tub, he came out with the camera and took a pic of my new rock star look(see pic). Grace asked last night if we could go in the hot tub, but its been to cold or to busy, I think tonight we'll try it sounds like the last decent night before we get into the deep freeze predicting -25 below this weekend. We went to Veggie Tales the pirates who don't do anything on Friday, I think Grace was more impressed with the candy than the movie, she didn't like the chair , she thought it might fold up on her. Micah is busy with his stuff, he came home from a friends and now wants guitar heroes III for his Wii, but its as popular as the Wii and can't find it anywhere, the kid is really starting to turn into a little metal head with the music he listens to. Only 31 days till the Daytona 500, ya all can come up to the Soothing Beverage Entertainment Center and watch, food, racing, and making fun of old DW, everyone is welcome. I've been putzing around the house doing some plumbing and fixing little stuff so I can cross it off my list. Kathy is busy, had her cooking coop last night and has a medical clinic at church she is helping with this weekend hope the weather won't discourage people from attending. My nephew Ethan (Dan & Deb's) is opening a library on Saturday, he has been passing out invites for 2 months, and has come up with his own dewey decimal system, has got a bunch of books on free cycle, its a semi casual event with appetizers and everything, I'll post some pictures afterwards. Well that's all I got, remember pray for Dale Jr to win @ Daytona and don't forget to eat at Tejas and Baja Billy's, take care

Micah, the Horn Player

Did you know that the French Horn is not really the French Horn? It's just 'the horn' and you will be corrected if you call it by it's incorrect name! Just a warning! Micah started playing the horn last year in 6th grade at Lincoln Middle School and he's continued this year at Hermantown Jr. High. We got to go to his first band concert in December, had to buy him black pants and a white dress shirt (we don't usually dress that way!) and sit on hard school bleachers, but the concert was great! It may have been the best rendition of 'Eye of the Tiger' ever. And I've heard (& played) lots of different versions! :O)

by saying we'd all spend time in it together
with no video games, no TV...

Finally!

With the holiday over, it's time to get back to this blogging thing! Micheal has tried to load new pictures, but couldn't remember the acct id & password, so after trying all the variations of my 'regular' choices, we're back in business! Christmas was surprisingly good, even relaxing at times - though not on Christmas day, of course! Now if I only remember to give Micheal the info to get in here, maybe there'll be some photos...
